SAT-7 is a Christian satellite television channel which provides Churches and Christians of the Middle East and North Africa an opportunity to witness to Jesus Christ through inspirational, informative and educational television programmes.
SAT-7 began broadcasting in 1996 after 25 different Christian agencies and churches from the Middle East, Europe and North America committed themselves to the vision of seeing a growing church in the Middle East and North Africa, confident in Christian faith and witness, serving the community and contributing to the good of society and culture.
The Vision of the ministry is threefold:
- To encourage the scattered Christian communities of the Middle East in their faith, service and witness for Christ.
- To provide its viewers with an opportunity to understand what Christians believe, in their own language, devoid of unnecessary foreign cultural or political baggage.
- To complement all public education and information channels with a balanced Christian world-view reflecting Biblical perspectives in human life and society.
Now broadcasting a 24 hours-a-day, free-to-view digital service, SAT-7 has a regular audience of over 6 million people. It provides programmes in Arabic, Farsi and Turkish, with special regular features for children, youth and women. This dynamic television service is made possible by charitable giving from all over the world. Terry Ascott, a member of Crofton Baptist Church, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SAT-7.
